A NOTE FROM DEBBIE...
It's hard to believe 2009 is a quarter over already! Winter has come & gone - ok we hope! - and spring is just about done. It's been hot here at the Jersey Shore this past weekend - I'm not ready for summer yet! I'm cranking out totes, purses and table runners so you'll find a good selection of patterns & kits at the shop and on the web. Summer brings the need for instant - or almost instant - gratification type projects and totes, purses and table runners fit the bill. I also try to make up some baby quilts to have on hand for gifts - check out our receiving blanket kits.
Don't forget to check the "Sew What's New Button" below the left menu! Updated weekly, there you'll find all our newest items.
The best way to keep in touch with us is to sign up for the QP Web Gazette that is emailed every Friday morning. It’s full of store news, pictures of new kits, class reminders, a quilting tip & anything else I think might be of interest to you. You can sign up by going to the website & clicking newsletters. We don’t share, lend, sell or rent our snail mail email list to anyone.

BLOCKS OF THE MONTH
APRON CLUB BLOCK OF THE MONTH
A 1930's treat! 15 apron blocks, borders and binding will be included in this 12 month block of the month. Included in this block of the month will be the pattern & all the fabrics to complete the top + ric rac for details & pre-made bias binding for the binding! $25 for the first month and $15.95 for the next 11 months + shipping. Shipping in the US will be $5 for Priority the first month (pattern will be sent the first month), $3 per month for the next 10 months and actual shipping for the last month (borders & binding will be sent). Shipping outside the US will be USPS Priority for the first month, $5 per month for the next 10 months and actual shipping for the last month. Die-cut pieces for the blocks - no cutting, just sew them together! Choose the batik version or the 1800's reproduction version.
91" square. Batik fabrics with a dark blue, multi colored print borders, green sashings & reds, yellows, pinks, greens, purples & blues in the blocks with an pale background. Repro fabrics with blue print borders, red sashings & reds, browns, tans, golds & greens in the blocks with an cream background.
Your monthly kit will include all pre-cut pieces for the block. Your finishing kit (13th block, instructions & fabrics for the setting squares, sashings, cornerstones, borders & binding - only the block will be pre-cut) is included in the monthly fees & will ship the last two months of the program - Jan & Feb 2010.
This is a 12 month block of the month. The first month is $25 & then $13.95 per month for the remaining 11 months. If we are mailing your blocks within the US, each month will be $3 and the last two months will be actual shipping + $1. International will be $5 per month (Canada will probably be $3 per month) except for the last two months which will be actual shipping + $1 for countries served by USPS first class mail. Over the River & Through the Woods Block of the Month
...to Grandmother's house we go! I've always loved that old song... makes me think of Thanksgiving... "Hurray for the pumpkin pie!" The little family travels in a horse drawn sleigh through the snowy woods & across the river to Grandmother's warm & welcoming farmhouse. You can practically smell the turkey roasting!
We've done ours in browns, tans & creams - see the picture with the loose blocks to the right for our colorway. Finished quilt measures 51 1/2"x57 1/2

BUTTERFLIES!
Butterflies is a QP original! This 81" square appliqué quilt - you can do it by hand or by machine - has 16 different butterflies and will be offered for $19.95 per month in batiks as shown The first 8 months you will receive the patterns & the fabrics for two butterflies per month, the 9th month we will send the sashings & month 10 we will send the outer border & the binding. SHELLS BLOCK OF THE MONTH
53" x 32" This 7 month block of the month is done in batiks and celebrates the shells of the sea. QP’s shell block of the month will include the pattern & all fabrics for the top & the binding. Backing will be available separately. There is a $25 non-refundable start-up fee, then only $19.99 per month plus $3 shipping and handling for each kit for the first 6 months and actual shipping + $1 for the final month if not picked up at the shop. Wild!Flowers Block of the Month
Wild!Flowers is an appliquéd and pieced quilt for embroidery machines which features 6 flowers native to the Eastern U.S. Our block of the month will be done in lighter colors - we are working on our sample. The QP version will use lighter colors & the backgrounds be done with the same light green batik and the finished quilt will have borders of greens and some blues, along with the purples & golds. 
The CD includes 6 Large and 6 Small designs, and 2 PDF files showing each flower sewn-out and thread charts. Design sizes range from 4" x 4" to 5.5" x 7.5" and are in ART, DST, EXP, HUS, PCS, PES, SHV, and XXX formats.
Our block of the month will finish at 58 x 72" & will include the CD & pattern, all fabrics for the top & binding. Click here to sign up via the webstore.

MACHINE KNOW HOW LESSONS

We feel it is important that you maximize your investment by learning how to use all the features available on your machine. We have regularly scheduled Know How classes. MACHINE SERVICE & REPAIR
QP is an authorized Bernina, Elna, Baby Lock, HandiQuilter & Janome service & repair center. We also service & repair all other makes & models.
Going on vacation? Send your machine to SPA QP while you are gone! Jim or Ernie will lube, exfoliate and buff that machine right up! Bring your machine’s foot control, cord and zigzag foot when you drop your machine off at the spa. Leave the rest of your accessories at home. Machines should be serviced once a year.
